The Future of Amateur Badminton Competitions in Warrington

Building a Year-Round League

We want to create a year-round league that allows juniors to blend naturally into competitive badminton. Alongside this, we will introduce a dedicated women’s league and a singles circuit. These will run as structured competitive events where players collect points and rubbers, and we maintain a clear ranking system.

Growing Through Collaboration

To build depth, we will involve nearby academies and trusted partners. The goal is to develop a large, vibrant local league, similar in scale to the Southport league. It will not reach that level immediately, but it will grow steadily as our juniors develop.

The Five-Year Vision

Our juniors are the foundation. As they improve, learn and progress, the overall level of the area will rise. In five years this can become a great place to play badminton, with a strong reputation and a wide competitive base.

Stronger adult players may feel the league is too weak at the beginning and choose not to take part. That is completely fine. We start with juniors first, expand year by year, invite stronger teams gradually and build a robust system over time. By year five the level will be high enough that teams outside our area will want to join.

Where We Are Now

In December 2025 we are at the very beginning. We have started running friendly match events to give juniors exposure and build connections between clubs. These events are the first seeds of something much bigger.

A Call for Allies

We are looking for allies who want to help organise and shape the league we are about to release. If you want to be part of building something meaningful for Warrington badminton, now is the right time to step forward.
